Every year, 10,000+ juniors from across the United States compete in
over 20 different sports at the AAU Junior Olympics. The Table Tennis events
are scheduled for August 8 – 10, 2002. An opening ceremony (much like the one
at the Olympic Games) will be held on August 7. A medal at these events is a
great 'resume-builder' and USATT pays careful attention to the results. It's
also a great experience for young athletes to meet their peers, have some fun,
and become competition-ready in a low-pressure setting. The USATT National
Junior Team Championships and the USATT Junior National Championships are held
concurrently. Here's a great chance to come out and make an impact for Table
Tennis and have a great time yourself. Make your play for the medal stand and
an AAU Junior Olympic Medal or a USATT Junior National Title, this summer in
Knoxville, Tennessee. Visit http://www.sportscorp.com and get the
low-down on sports in Knoxville and their preparations for the 2002 Junior
Olympics.
